The Bible you hold in your hands is no ordinary book.

It is the great bestseller of all time, the Creator’s handbook, and the very Word of God. Most of all, it is a deeply personal love letter from our heavenly Father, lovingly put to parchment by the biblical writers under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It reveals His heart and His plans for our lives through His Son, our Lord Jesus, and His finished work.

That is why I believe it is so important for us as children of God to learn to read the Bible for ourselves. The Bible is a living book through which the Lord speaks directly to our hearts. It’s His way of revealing His heart to us, showing us who He is and how much He loves us. Within its pages, we find timeless wisdom, practical instructions, and powerful promises that lead us to the abundant life that Jesus came to give us.

But the Bible is so much more than just a book to me. Every time I open its pages, it’s like I’m sitting down to an intimate conversation with my Lord Himself. Many times, the Holy Spirit illuminates the words, making them come alive in a deeply personal way. A passage that l’ve read countless times before can suddenly take on new meaning and speak directly into my situation. It never ceases to amaze me how the Lord can use a book written thousands of years ago to minister to the very real needs and struggles we face today.

As a father myself, nothing delights my heart more than when my children come to me and desire to spend time together. Those are such special moments that I treasure very much. As you take time to seek your heavenly Father, to desire to understand His Word, and to have a relationship with Him through the Bible, I want you to know that He is so pleased with you! And I believe that He is going to use our time together in this resource to greatly impact your walk with Him and to bless your life.

Having this opportunity to teach about the Bible is very special to me because I love the Word of God, and I love unveiling the beauty of the Word and the Word Himself, our Lord Jesus. I want you to know there is no insignificant detail in the Bible.

Everything is there for one purpose–to point us to the person of Jesus! From Genesis to Revelation, we see the scarlet thread of God’s redemptive love for man woven through every book, every story, and every page. The Old Testament conceals in types and pictures new covenant truths, while the New Testament reveals Him-our Lord Jesus Christ-in all His glory and all His loveliness! That is what makes the Word of God so exciting!

And that’s why I believe the best way to approach reading the Bible is to see it as an invitation to know Jesus more intimately.

The two disciples on the road to Emmaus had their hearts burn with the warmth of the Lord’s love as He expounded to them in the Scriptures things concerning Himself (Luke 24:32). They didn’t just gain more Bible knowledge but also encountered the living Word Himself! That’s my desire for you as well-that as we explore the Word together, you will experience Jesus in a fresh and powerful way.

Now I know reading the Bible on your own can sometimes feel daunting or overwhelming. But I want to reassure you that the same Holy Spirit who inspired the writers of Scripture lives inside you, the believer. He is your teacher and guide, and He will open up the Word to you as you approach it with a humble, teachable heart.

In this masterclass, we will look at some simple yet profound keys to unlocking the treasures of God’s Word. I’ll be sharing from my own journey and the principles I’ve learned that have helped me fall more in love with Jesus each time I open my Bible.

My prayer is that you will come away from our time together with a renewed hunger for the Word, a deeper revelation of Jesus Christ, and a closer walk with Him. I believe that as you make it a priority to spend time in the Scriptures, you will experience the transforming power of His Word in every area of your life.

So come expectant and ready to receive. Open your heart to God and tell Him, “Father, I long to see Jesus in all His beauty and glory as I read Your Word. Holy Spirit, be my teacher and guide.” He will surely answer that prayer!
